Commenting about the song, Shankar said, “De Ghumaa Ke” literally means ‘Hit It Hard’. We were looking at various ideas to determine what direction we can take because we wanted to make a fun song, a dhamaal song on which people can dance, they can sing and we wanted to use more of a colloquial term, which was an idea that came in late. Initially, we were looking at a regular dance song and by chance we coined this phrase De Ghuma Ke. Everyone got excited and said why not make a song around the phrase.” The lyrics of the song uses some commonly used Hindi phrases like aare paare (this way or that) and juta hausla badla faisla (buck up and change the game). De Ghuma Ke has a combination of Indian beats and rhythms and does not conform to any one style in particular with elements of rock and hip hop thrown in. The song, according to the composers, avoids the usual patriotic and run-of-the-mill Bollywood beats for a “fun and funky tune” with a “folksy feel and a hint of rustic Punjabi”. De Ghuma Ke has three different versions in three different languages; Hindi, Bangla and Sinhalese keeping in mind the three hosting nations India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The Bengali version has been sung by Raghab Chatterjee while Ranidu Lankage has rendered the Sinhalese version.

The song in the film is a playback for John Abraham who plays Jimmy Stetson, a rock star and depicts his relationship with Sussana, played by Priyanka Chopra. The song has some romantic scenes between the duo.

Saat Khoon Maaf is based on a short story by Ruskin Bond, Susanna’s Seven Husbands. The film depicts the life of a woman, who marries seven different men in her life span and murders them all in her quest for love! Saat Khoon Maaf is the story of Susanna Anna-Marie Johannes, a beautiful Anglo Indian woman and her love stories with seven different men.

Priyanka Chopra is the lead actress in the film who plays a murderous wife to her seven husbands. Apart from Piggy Chops, the film features Neil Nitin Mukesh, Naseerudin Shah, Arshad Warsi, Mohan Lal, Irrfan Khan & John Abraham as her husbands. Naseeruddin Shah’s son Vivaan Shah has been roped in to play the youngest husband and Russian actor Aleksandr Dyachenko, also plays one of the seven husbands. The buzz is that Vishal Bharadwaj has also signed an international actor to play one of the husbands. Konkona Sen Sharma also has a cameo in the film. Julia Robert has herself produced the movie with Brad Pitt. ‘Eat Pray Love’ is about a woman realizing that she is not getting what she wants out of life, and, after a painful divorce, sets out on a journey of self discovery that takes her around the world. The movie also stars Javier Bardem, Billy Crudup, Richard Jenkins and James Franco.

Ryan Murphy , director of Multiple Emmy award winning serial ‘Glee’, has directed this movie, while the cinematography has been done by Robert Richardson. ‘Eat Pray Love’ which began filming in August 2009 has been shot in a budget of $60 million. Spanning across three of the world’s most culturally diverse countries, viz. Italy, India and Indonesia, the movie covers the vivid aspects of the countries very finely and the experiences of Elizabeth (Julia Roberts) in the countries.

The film is broken down into four separate acts – the film’s prologue where Elizabeth’s personal breakdown happens in New York; her search for great food in Italy; searching for her spiritual centre in India; and finally reaching an emotional balance in Bali. Each act is distinct in its manner and subject and we see Liz grow emotionally and spiritually through each experience. It is only an actress like Julia Roberts that can make a character like Elizabeth Gilbert seem three dimensional and not artificial and whiney. We want her to find herself, and this sort of connection is crucial for a movie like Eat Pray Love. Her best moments are when she shares the screen with James Franco as both actors play off each other delightfully.
