Vinay Shukla the National award winning filmmaker proudly claims that his upcoming movie ‘Mirch’ is India’s first ever film in the erotic genre. He has roped in Bollywood actresses likes of Raima Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma and Shahana Goswami for the prominent female leads in the movie. The likes of Shreyas Talpade, Boman Irani, Arunonday Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Tisca Chopra and Ila Arun will be playing off the central female characters. The movie is being released under Reliance Big Pictures banner on 10^th December 2010 in screens across India.

Shukla says that ‘Mirch’ has four different stories with a fifth one connecting them all. The stories celebrate womanhood under the garb of outright adultery! Though ‘Mirch’ is a sex-comedy it doesn’t deal with the theme of adultery like slapstick humour. There’s a lot of wit and intellect in it.

National award winning actress Konkana Sen Sharma feels that Indian audiences are mature enough to handle the depiction of female sexuality in Mirch. Speaking about ‘Mirch’ the Bengali actress says she plays a Rajasthani princess in one story and a contemporary woman in the other. The movie is about a director showcasing four of his stories that he wants to make into a film. The women in the film are mischievous, but Vinay treats each subject in a very classy manner.

Animation meets Reality in ‘Toonpur Ka Superrhero’: India’s First 3D Animation Combination Feature Film

The retro superstar Ajay Devgn will be seen in a real role with animated co-stars in India’s first 3D animation combination feature – Toonpur Ka Superrhero! His better half Kajol will be starring opposite him in the movie. The animated action comedy film has been written by Raaghi Bhatnagar and directed by Kireet Khurana. Sharan Kapoor has produced the movie, while the Indian Idol judge Anu Malik has scored the music for the movie. The film is all set to be released on 17^th December 2010.

Unlike its Western counterpart, Bollywood has longed for a good animated movie and the likes of ‘Baal Ganesh’ and ‘Roadside Romeo’ tried hard, but in vain for commercial success. In attempts to become a hero in the eyes of his children, ‘Aditya’ played by Devgn, finds himself on a cartoon show where he must help the ‘Devtoons’ fight the ‘Toonasaurs’ – the enemies.

The film is not just made for children but also meant to draw audiences across all age groups. The promos of the film have already generated quite a buzz and the movie is expected to perform well in the Indian circuit especially with the release date being moved closer to the festive season. The first teaser posters of TMK have a train in the backdrop, but ask Farah if she was inspired by the movie and she denies it: “Yes, TMK is also about a train robbery but it’s more of a comic caper and an original story.”
